Genital warts are a sexually transmitted disease and are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). There are approximately one hundred strains of this virus, thirty of which affect the genital area. Because a virus causes these warts they are extremely contagious. There is no cure for genital warts but there are many treatment options available to ease the pain, itch, and general discomfort that the warts cause.
Garlic
Garlic is a proven healer and can also help get rid of unwanted genital warts. Garlic can be taken orally to improve overall health and therefore, helping to get rid of genital warts. To take garlic orally you can eat garlic in your food, roast heads of garlic and eat the cloves, or take garlic oil. Another way to use garlic to get rid of genital warts is to crush one clove of garlic. The crushed clove can then be rubbed directly on the wart and the wart covered in plaster or a bandage that will completely seal the wart. This process should be repeated every day with a fresh clove of garlic. This home remedy is very effective in making the wart turn into a blister, which will generally fall off within one week.
